New Beneteau's
The First brand forms the performance range from the Beneteau yard. Since their inception in the early 80's, they have been winning championships worldwide, including on a more local scale, Half Ton Cup, Admiral's Cup, Cowes Week, King's Cup, Commodore's Cup, Spi-Ouest, RORC Boat of the Year - a remarkable success for a production range of boats.
Back in 1997, Beneteau went to designer Bruce Farr to design a new 40 footer, which became the 40.7 and well over 400 of this boat have been built to date with orders still flooding in. She is leading the fleet under both IMS and CHS. Based on the remarkable success of the 40.7 the 31.7 followed, and then the awesome 47.7, a highly powerful yacht, stunning looks, luxurious accommodation and still taking thoroughbred race boats and beating them. New for 2001 was the First 36.7, in all respects, apart from speed, a scaled down version of the 40.7. She represents excellent value for money when compared with her counterparts and her early results indicate that she will be a force to be reckoned with in the coming years, with wins for the first few straight out of the bag.
Finally, when it is time to sell and move on up to the next First in the range, is the last surprise - with their fully fitted interiors and manageability short-handed, they have experienced far higher residual values than some more radical performance brands, thus making your purchase of a new First a far better investment.
